Frequently Asked Questions

Our office is open for walk-in services Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Atlantic Standard Time (AST). Please note that some services may require a prior appointment, especially for vessel surveys or technical consultations.

Our offices are closed on weekends and public holidays in the British Virgin Islands.

We strive to respond to all inquiries within 1-2 business days. Technical or complex queries may require additional time for research and consultation.

For urgent matters, we recommend calling our main office number directly. For emergencies, please use our dedicated 24/7 emergency contact line.

To schedule a vessel inspection or survey, please contact our Technical Services Department directly at technical@bvima.uk or call +1 (284) 494-3703. Please provide the following information:

  • Vessel name and registration number
  • Type of inspection/survey needed
  • Preferred dates and location
  • Contact details for the vessel representative

We recommend scheduling inspections at least 2-3 weeks in advance, especially during the busy season.

Yes, many registration documents can be submitted electronically via email to registration@bvima.uk. However, some original documents may need to be submitted in hard copy or notarized copies.

For new vessel registrations, we recommend contacting our Registration Department first to discuss your specific requirements and determine which documents can be submitted electronically versus those that require physical submission.

All electronic submissions should be in PDF format with clear, legible scans of the original documents.
